We are thrilled to share the engaging journey we embarked on in the DEEP Project - Disability and Professional Empowerment Engaging 3D Printing. An experience where design and 3D printing converged, presenting a unique opportunity to drive change and progress in the realm of disability.

The ambitious goal of DEEP – uniting diverse skills for disability
DEEP's central objective was to create an innovative training model capable of breaking down conceptual barriers that confine disability to specific sectors. Throughout this stimulating journey, we witnessed collaboration among diverse professionals, including healthcare practitioners, occupational therapists, and designers. Seemingly distant realities joined forces in an atmosphere of collaboration and co-design, providing innovative support to those living with disabilities.
This ambitious project was made possible through funding from the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program. Involving five partners from four EU countries – Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Luxembourg – DEEP showcased that international collaboration is crucial for addressing disability challenges globally and inclusively.
The 3D printing revolution in healthcare

A key element of this initiative was 3D printing, a technology revolutionizing the disability and healthcare sector by creating custom shapes, sizes, and designs tailored to users' specific needs. This versatility is crucial for developing personalized aids, offering significant benefits to patients, medical professionals, researchers, and designers. The technology is opening new horizons, enabling rapid prototyping and the development of innovative solutions.
Our contribution as designers

Our involvement in DEEP has been a professionally and personally enriching experience. Engaging with psychologists and healthcare professionals sparked new ideas and deepened our empathy towards those living with disabilities. As designers, our contribution focused on designing solutions to foster inclusion and enhance the daily lives of those facing motor challenges.
Details of this extraordinary project will soon be published on our website and social channels. Stay tuned as we share all facets of this innovative and collaborative adventure.
Bearing witness to the power of design and technology in shaping a more inclusive and accessible future, we hope this experience inspires further collaborative efforts to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
